ALWAGHT- Yemen’s Supreme Political Council has denounced the deadly US attack backing Israel, vowing to deliver a "painful" retaliation against the criminal regime.
The US launched large-scale air and naval strikes on Yemen’s capital and multiple provinces, killing at least 31 people, mostly women and children. In response, Yemen’s Supreme Political Council condemned the attack, calling it a failure of US military strategy. The council vowed a "professional and painful" retaliation and warned that the aggression would only escalate tensions rather than deter Yemen’s support for Gaza.
The council also highlighted the risk of renewed militarization in the Red Sea, posing a threat to international navigation. It declared that both the US and Israel would ultimately face defeat, just as they had in Gaza. Additionally, the council urged the international community to take action against what it described as reckless US-Israeli aggression, warning of widespread consequences.
Ansarullah spokesperson Mohammed Abdul Salam dismissed US President Donald Trump’s claim that the strikes were meant to protect American interests and restore freedom of navigation. He reiterated that Yemen’s naval operations only target Israeli-linked ships and will continue until humanitarian aid reaches Gaza. Meanwhile, a Saudi official denied reports that Riyadh had provided logistical support for the US assault, calling such claims misleading.
