Alwaght- The Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Thursday the Israeli regime's breach of the Lebanese airspace was tantamount to an attack on the national sovereignty.
“Lebanon considered that the Israeli warplanes’ use of the Lebanese airspace is an attack on our sovereignty, and we will not accept any Israeli exploitation of our airspace,” Aoun said in remarks during a session for the Cabinet at Baabda palace near Beirut on Thursday.
He was reacting to strikes carried out by Israeli Regime's F-15 warplanes via Lebanese air space on T-4 air base in Syria's Homs Province on Monday. The air raids killed and wounded several people. “We condemn any Israeli attack on any Arab state,” President Aoun added.
“Lebanon will file a complaint against the Israeli violation of the Lebanese sovereignty, before the UN Security Council,” he indicated.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil confirmed the complaint against the Israeli regime, saying the government needs to take a decision concerning the Israeli violations.
"Lebanon will file a complaint at the UN Security Council. A political decision must be taken at the cabinet and a military decision at the Higher Defense Council shall these encroachments violations continue," he said.
Syria on Monday warned about the “dangerous repercussions” of Israeli assaults on its territories, stressing that the recent attack on Homs would not have been possible without massive US support.
In a letter to the United Nations secretary general and the UNSC president, Syrian Foreign Ministry said in the framework of its policies based on practicing state terror and providing constant support for armed terrorist groups as well as violating UNSC resolutions, the authorities of the Israeli regime renewed acts of aggression against Syrian territories.
