Reports say over 200,000 Muslims prayed the first Friday prayer of the holy month of Ramadan at al-Aqsa Mosque.

After the prayer ended, worshipers spread out across al-Aqsa to read Quran and listen to religious lectures. For Muslims, Al-Aqsa represents the world's third holiest mosque.
Last week Head of the Supreme Islamic Committee, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, urged the Palestinian Muslims to step up presence at holy al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Quds during the fasting month of Ramadan.
