Massive Attendance of Friday Prayers at Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Quds

Saturday 20 June 2015
Massive Attendance of Friday Prayers at Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Quds
Alwaght-Tens of thousands  gathered at al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Quds to attend Friday prayers on the second day of the holy month of Ramadan.

Reports say over 200,000 Muslims prayed the first Friday prayer of the holy month of Ramadan at al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli regime had decided to allow West Bank men aged 40 and older to enter al-Quds  to attend prayers at the Aqsa Mosque without permits.

Palestinians from different West Bank cities traveled en masse to the occupied Quds for the Friday prayers.

Israeli regime forces tightened security measures at all checkpoints around Quds, deployed thousands of its troops on the streets of the holy city and restricted the movement of young people to prevent them from entering the Aqsa Mosque.

482 Palestinians from Gaza were also reportedly allowed to travel to the occupied Quds to attend the Friday prayers at the holy Mosque.

After the prayer ended, worshipers spread out across al-Aqsa to read Quran and listen to religious lectures. For Muslims, Al-Aqsa represents the world's third holiest mosque.

Last week Head of the Supreme Islamic Committee, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, urged the Palestinian Muslims to step up presence at holy al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Quds during the fasting month of Ramadan.
