Hezbollah Rules Out Internal Fighting, Rejects Clash with Lebanese Army

ALWAGHT- Sheikh Ali Damoush, head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, stated that the resistance will not engage in conflict with the Lebanese Army and will not tolerate internal discord, adding that attempts to fracture national unity are destined to fail.

Sheikh Ali Damoush said during Friday prayers in Beirut’s Dahiyeh that claims linking Lebanese Army operations south of the Litani River to an end of Israeli aggression are unfounded, noting that Israeli attacks continue and no withdrawal has taken place.

He stated that while the army is nearing the end of the so-called first phase of its operations, Israel has escalated its aggression and shown disregard for Lebanese military measures, arguing that the phase cannot be considered complete without an Israeli pullout, an end to attacks, and the return of displaced residents.

Damoush criticized Lebanese authorities for separating their ceasefire obligations from those of Israel, warning this has created the perception that Lebanon is complying unilaterally, despite the agreement being based on mutual commitments.

He said ongoing military, political, and economic pressure aims to provoke internal conflict and force Hezbollah to retreat or surrender, but stressed the group will not confront the army, fuel internal discord, or disarm while Israeli occupation and attacks persist.
