ALWAGHT- Describing the strike as ‘brutal,’ Hamas condemned Israel’s shelling of a school in Gaza City on Friday that killed several Palestinians, accusing Israel of committing a deliberate war crime and violating the ceasefire.
Hamas said on Saturday that Israeli shelling of a school sheltering displaced civilians in Gaza City constituted a brutal crime against civilians and a repeated violation of the ceasefire, criticizing what it described as international silence and inaction. The group said the attack killed several people, most of them children, and accused Israel of deliberately targeting civilians.
The group also alleged that Israel has continued ceasefire violations across Gaza, including attacks on civilians, bombardments, and obstruction of medical access, worsening the humanitarian situation. Hamas warned that preventing ambulances and rescue teams from reaching attack sites amounts to compounded war crimes and breaches of international humanitarian law.
According to Gaza authorities and the Palestinian Health Ministry, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and more than a thousand wounded since the ceasefire took effect, with civilians making up the vast majority of casualties. Hamas urged mediators and the United States to intervene immediately to stop what it described as systematic violations undermining the ceasefire agreement.
