ALWAGHT- Israeli occupation forces enforced a broad siege on villages west of Ramallah while escalating raids and expanding bulldozing activity in Qabatiya.
Israeli occupation forces imposed a broad siege on at least 10 Palestinian villages west of Ramallah, sealing entrances and shutting the Atara checkpoint, severely restricting civilian movement across the central West Bank. The measures followed a reported shooting near the Hashmonaim checkpoint and included raids on Kharbatha Bani Harith and al-Mughayyir.
The escalation coincided with settler violence in the Ramallah area, with settlers attacking Palestinian vehicles near Bil’in under the protection of Israeli forces. In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops imposed a full siege on Qabatiya, south of Jenin, converting homes into military posts and carrying out extensive bulldozing that damaged key infrastructure.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli raids across the West Bank have intensified, with more than 18,000 Palestinians detained and over 1,000 killed, according to UN data, marking one of the deadliest periods in recent decades amid ongoing military operations and settler attacks.
