Iran Sent Humanitarian Aid Ship to Yemen

Alwaght- On Sunday evening, Islamic republic of Iran has sent a cargo ship to Yemen which is carrying 2,500 Tonnes of humanitarian aid including food and medicine supplies as well as basic requirements.

This Iranian cargo ship set sail for port of Hodeida in Yemen to lessen severe shortages of food, medicine and fuel after forty-six day brutal aggression on Yemen, whereas Saudi regime have imposed a sea and air blockade on Yemen.

Saudi jets have destroyed the runway of Sanaa international airport the time and again to prevent Iranian plane carrying aid from landing, whereas aid agencies have warned of a humanitarian catastrophe, because Yemen imports more than 90 percent of its food.

Iran is set to send more ships and planes of humanitarian aid to war victims in Yemen.

Meanwhile, Tehran's readiness to contribute to the United Nations humanitarian aid plan for the people of Yemen was voiced by an Iranian deputy foreign minister.

In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdollahian and the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos discussed the ways to deliver immediate humanitarian aid to war-torn Yemen.

aggression on Yemen has been conducted since 26 March to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

More than six weeks of deadly aerial attacks on Yemen by Saudi-led coalition have killed more than 3,000 people and some 6,200 others injured.
