Alwaght- Saudi Arabia uses its wealth to seduce French government into silence over its crimes in Yemen and support for terrorists in Syria, a French journalist told Sputnik news site.
The investigative journalist, Christian Chesnot says Saudi princes believe French politicians are “easy to buy” and they use the wealth to seduce French government.
"The princes of these monarchies perceive the French as people who can be easily bought,’ he said.
However he also said the French politicians for their part, regard the princes in the Persian Gulf Arab countries as “money cow” who should be consumed.
Referring to the French parliament members, he said “these elected representatives prefer to see the oil monarchies as cash cows.”
Touching on French policies toward the Saudi aggressions in Yemen and their support for terrorist groups in Syria, he urged Paris to show “more transparency and responsibility” and said "What's more, we are drawn into cases where we should be more careful, especially in Yemen. 8,000 people have already been killed there, but we have been supplying arms and providing satellite images. And we do not talk about the massacres which killed 140 people and injured 500 more in Sanaa."
Referring to the war in Syria and the French policy toward the Persian Gulf countries on this matter, he said "some things went wrong," citing issues related to the Al-Nusra Front, a terrorist group. He drew attention to the fact that Saudi Arabia and Qatar helped arm movements, "some of which were close to Al-Qaeda."
"It is Qatar, Saudia Arabia and Turkey which are to blame for this jihadization of the war in Syria. The French turned a blind eye to it, allowing our friends from Qatar and Saudi Arabia to do what they want. We did not wish to see the Syrian opposition put on the path of jihad," Chesnot said.
