ALWAGHT- Israel’s US-funded Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) must be immediately dismantled, according to 35 UN special rapporteurs.
UN human rights experts have condemned the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), calling it a violation of humanitarian principles and accusing it of being a front for military and political agendas. In a statement released by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, they described the US- and Israel-backed aid group as an “insult to the humanitarian enterprise,” citing the deaths of at least 859 Palestinians seeking aid at GHF distribution points since May 2025.
The experts reported that Israeli forces and foreign contractors have repeatedly opened fire on civilians—especially vulnerable groups like women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities—who gather at GHF aid sites. They accused Israel of deliberately starving Gaza’s population through ongoing blockades and border closures, and criticized the use of the term "humanitarian" to describe an operation they claim is part of Israel’s “humanitarian camouflage.”
The experts called on the international community to take urgent action, including imposing a full arms embargo on Israel, halting trade and investment deals that harm Palestinians, and holding corporations accountable for complicity. They warned that without accountability, the integrity of humanitarian aid itself could be undermined, as the GHF was designed to sideline the UN’s role in aid distribution and has been rejected by the organization for promoting forced displacement under the guise of relief.
