ALWAGHT- To support Arbaeen pilgrims across Iraq, Astan Quds Razavi has deployed about 1,000 servants from the Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine, offering a range of services including food distribution and medical assistance through structured camps and volunteer activities.
As Arbaeen approaches and pilgrim numbers rise in Iraq, around 1,000 servants from the Imam Reza (AS) shrine have set up support camps called Mukibs in key cities including Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimiya, and Samarra. Coordinated by Seyed Ali Bamashki and Astan Quds Razavi, these camps provide a range of services such as food distribution, medical aid, cultural programs, and equipment repair, extending support beyond Mashhad to border crossings and various Iraqi locations.
Three official caravans and multiple grassroots teams have been deployed, with many camps managed by local volunteers. A special group known as the “Ambassadors of the Kind Nation” has also been sent to honor shrine servants and deliver symbolic items like flags and sacred memorabilia along pilgrimage routes. The initiative began in late July and will continue beyond the Arbaeen pilgrimage, after which the servants will return to Mashhad to assist with Imam Reza’s martyrdom commemorations.
In Kadhimiya, the shrine’s shoe-keepers have resumed their annual Arbaeen service, operating a camp at Bab-e-Ali courtyard starting August 6. They distribute thousands of meals daily with the help of male and female volunteers and aim to strengthen the spiritual bond between Imam Reza’s servants and the millions of pilgrims journeying to Karbala. Jafar Kheirzadeh, the shoe-keepers’ leader, expressed hope that their dedicated service will bring blessings and satisfaction to the pilgrims.
