ALWAGHT- Yemen’s Armed Forces have launched another hypersonic ballistic missile at the Israeli regime’s most vital airport, continuing their support for Palestinians in Gaza, who have endured nearly 22 months of a genocidal war waged by Israel.
Yemen's armed forces announced an operation targeting Israel's Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv by firing a "Palestine-2" hypersonic ballistic missile. They claimed the strike was successful, causing more than four million Israelis to flee to shelters and bringing the airport to a halt. This attack is part of an ongoing aerial blockade imposed by the Houthis intended to pressure Israel to end the war and lift the siege on Gaza, escalating their pro-Palestinian actions since the Gaza conflict began in October 2023.
The missile attack led to the temporary suspension of flights at Ben Gurion Airport, with airlines such as Italy's and India's national carriers extending their suspended flight operations to the airport until late September and October. According to military correspondent Doron Kadosh, the Houthis have launched around 67 ballistic missiles and 18 armed drones toward Israeli targets since March 2025, averaging about one missile every two days. This continued assault accompanies Israel's retaliatory strikes targeting Yemeni infrastructure, aiming to halt the Yemeni support front.
Despite Israeli attempts to counter the missile strikes with advanced defense systems like THAAD and Arrow, some missiles have landed near critical Israeli infrastructure, including the main terminal area of Ben Gurion Airport, causing damage and injuries. The Houthis assert their readiness to confront Israeli retaliations and maintain pressure until their goals relating to Gaza are met. The conflict remains intense, with both sides engaged in ongoing military and strategic confrontations.
