Alwaght- Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, IRGC, warns that the Al Khalifa regime in Bahrain faces ouster following revocation of the country’s top Islamic scholar Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim’s citizenship.
IRGC’s statement issued on Tuesday predicted a revolution which would overthrow the regime in course of violent actions by armed resistance of Ayatollah Isa Qassim loyalists; “The highly imprudent and cruel measure of stripping nationality of a religious leader flagrantly violates his citizenship rights and Islamic codes of conduct as well as international norms and regulations; the measure tramples on the human dignity of the Arab world and was in line with hatred expressed by Zionist regime and Saudi plot against true Islam,” emphasized the statement.
The statement is a reaffirmation of the warning issued by IRGC Quds Force Commander Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani issued on Monday. “The imprudent act will fuel the Islamic revolution in Bahrain and would topple the regime; the regime in Manama has copied Saudi Arabia in resorting to arms to placate Bahraini people’s peaceful activities. IRGC gravely warns the illegitimate and petty despotic rulers of the Al-Khalifa family about its inevitable overthrow by the sweeping waves of revolution if it continues its adventurism to win the hearts of the Zionists,” it asserted.
On Monday, the Bahraini regime stripped Sheikh Qassim of his citizenship, accusing him of sowing "sectarianism and violence."
The move has ignited protests in the tiny Persian Gulf Island with dozens of supporters of the prominent cleric gathered at his home in the village of Diraz to protest withdrawal of his citizenship.
Meanwhile Bahraini regime forces have stormed into the office of Sheikh Isa Qassim in the northern village of Karranah on Tuesday and broke the doors of the building.
