ALWAGHT- Vahid Jalalzadeh, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, stated that the US' unlawful interventions and aggressions in the region, which contradict international law, have caused insecurity, instability, and the proliferation of terrorism and security threats for other countries.
In a meeting with Hikmet Farhad oglu Hajiyev, an assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh discussed recent unrest in Iran and blamed foreign-linked violent elements for turning peaceful protests into violence that resulted in the loss of life.
Jalalzadeh emphasized Iran's commitment to protecting its independence, sovereignty, and national security and highlighted the national solidarity and unity demonstrated by the Iranian people in funeral processions for the martyrs of the unrest.
Hajiyev expressed satisfaction with cooperation between the two countries and stressed the importance of accelerating the implementation of joint projects in various sectors. He also reiterated Azerbaijan's opposition to foreign interference in other countries' internal affairs and referred to Iran's policy of promoting peace and stability in the region. The two sides discussed bilateral agreements made between high-ranking officials of the two countries, including those made during Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's recent visit to Baku.
