ALWAGHT- The Vice Chairman of Lebanon's Supreme Islamic Shia Council has issued a warning, stating that any harm inflicted upon Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is equivalent to a global declaration of war against the Shia community.
Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, Vice Chairman of Lebanon's Supreme Islamic Shia Council, spoke at a public gathering in solidarity with Iran and warned of severe consequences if any harm is inflicted upon Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, stating that it would be considered a declaration of war against all Shias worldwide.
Al-Khatib's remarks came in response to US President Donald Trump's repeated threats to attack Iran following foreign-linked riots across the country. He emphasized that such an action would carry "devastating and unpredictable consequences."
Thousands of people across Lebanon participated in large demonstrations expressing support for Iran, its leadership, and its regional role amid escalating threats and pressure against the Islamic Republic. Rallies were held in several areas, including Beirut’s southern suburbs, Tyre, Nabatieh, and Baalbek.
Al-Khatib noted that Ayatollah Khamenei's role extends beyond politics, positioning him as one of the prominent religious authorities of the Islamic world. The gatherings condemned threats and insults directed at Ayatollah Khamenei, reaffirming their support for Iran and its leadership. Foreign-backed armed rioters and terrorists hijacked peaceful protests over economic grievances on January 8 and 9, resulting in extensive damage to property, killing hundreds of civilians and security forces, with US and Israeli spy agencies reportedly involved in providing funding, training, and media support to the rioters and armed terrorists.
