Way of Al-Aqsa: This Year’s Arbaeen Procession Embraces Palestinian Liberation Agenda More Than Ever

Arbaeen Congregation, a Harbinger of Muslim Unity, Begins

What’s Behind International Media Boycott of Arbaeen?

Alwaght- The Arbaeen of Imam Hussein is one of the world's biggest events in terms of human participation in which people from all races, nationalities, and religions participate. The great goals for which Imam Hussain and his house and his companions rose up and were martyred were so influential that after 1,400 years, millions of Shiites go to the holy city of Karbala every year to commemorate this legend of sacrifice and resistance in Islam.

Although this historical event is considered a symbol of harmony and unity for the Shiites around the world, it is a cause for concern for the enemies of Islam, on top of them the US, who consider the convergence of Muslims a threat to their interests, to the extent that a few years ago one of the American commanders described the Arbaeen procession a "black snake", warning about its negative impacts on the Western interests in the region.

The prediction of this American military commander did not take a long time to materialize, and the Arbaeen and the discourse of resistance, which is grown in its atmosphere as a geocultural component, became the cornerstone for transformation in Tehran-Baghdad relations, completion of the ground corridor of resistance camp, and finally formation of the most important and influential regional coalition that is threatening the illegitimate interests of the US and Israeli regime in the region. In addition to drawing the lines of the new regional order based on the geopolitics of the resistance, this coalition has become an unignorable actor in the transforming international system and game of the powers.

Therefore, while the phenomenon of resistance is basically considered a geocultural issue (as a complex process of interactions of power, culture and geographical environment), surely Arbaeen has been the central sign of making the geopolitical foundations of resistance meaningful and expanding its strategic depth in the region.

Central role of Arbaeen in shaping the Axis of Resistance

The spirit of discourse of martyrdom and righteousness of Arbaeen reincarnated in the Axis of Resistance, and this axis in recent decades has blocked realization of many evil plans of the enemies of Islam, namely the US and Israel. Actually, this discourse has made the Resistance camp the stronghold of an agenda seeking to destroy the Israeli occupation and liberate Palestine.

The victory of Hezbollah against the Israeli regime and expulsion of Israeli occupation from the south of Lebanon in the early 21st century was a prelude to unpredictable and incredible field successes of the Axis of Resistance forces at the regional level, where even the most optimistic political and military analysts saw no chance for the success of a guerrilla group over an army armed to the jaws and boasted about as invincible. This historic victory was the prelude to other great victories such as the 33-Day War of 2006 with trust in the Ashura promise of the victory of blood over sword. In the following years and with the passage of time, this blessed bond among the resistance groups in the region grew stronger.

This discourse mobilized resistance forces against the big takfiri plot in Syria and Iraq to firmly defend the shrines of Shiite imams and neutralize this Western-Israeli sedition. Many analysts and countries supporting terrorists hoped for their victory at that time, but they failed against the spirit of resistance and persistence of the fighters trained in the school of Ashura. This confrontation once again evoked in the public mind the memory of Karbala, where right and evil battled centuries ago.

Inspiration from the discourse of Arbaeen can been seen very clearly in the past decade developments in Yemen. When this country was invaded by the Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition, the fighters of Ansarullah Movement, inspired by the discourse of Arbaeen and the belief that one should not surrender to the oppressors, stood against the enemy with the least resources and with the resistance they showed, they ultimately defeated the aggression forces. They forced them to sit at the negotiating table, and now Ansarullah, with the achievements and experiences they have made during the war, have changed the power equations in the peninsula in their favor in a historical development.

Since the discourse of resistance rests on the agenda of annihilation of Israeli occupation and liberation of Al-Quds, the resistance groups rushed to support Gaza since the beginning of Israeli invasion in October last year, dealing heavy blows to the enemy with massive attacks from Yemen to Iraq to Lebanon, to an extent that Israeli officials admitted that they have lost their deterrence against the Axis of Resistance and cannot fight on several fronts simultaneously.

Arbaeen, Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, and the Resistance geopolitics-based new regional order

As the uprising of Imam Hussein swept the cultural and humanitarian borders and set up to the world a new tradition of fight against oppression, the Axis of Resistance, influenced by the Arbaeen discourse, is seeking to upgrade the Muslim world's position in various cultural, economic, and military areas.

The aim of the resistance groups is to gain freedom and independence and to form the power of the Islamic world in competition with the domineering powers of the West and the East at various national, regional and global levels.

Meanwhile, the forces of Iranian Islamic Revolution and the Muslim awakening are holding the flag of this movement. The fact that the resistance groups attack Israeli and American positions is for cutting off the feet and hands of the occupation which have no goal but sowing division and sedition among the Muslims.

While the cooperation on countering the Takfiri terrorism project led to the formation of the Axis of Resistance in the region, the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm launched by Hamas is the turning point of the birth of a new regional order based on the geopolitics of resistance. One of the strong pillars of this new order is elimination of oppression from Palestine by removing the cancerous Israel.

The Operation Al-Aqsa Storm subjected the internal equations of occupied Palestine and the region to major changes and developments. The Palestinian fighters are standing with all their strength against the tyranny of the occupiers in order not to allow their land to fall completely into the hands of the usurping enemy, and in this fierce resistance, they have eroded the pillars of Israel and consequently the American military hegemony has also completely collapsed.

The resistance groups in the past months sent a message to the West that any regional changes without permission of the Axis of Resistance are impossible. Actually, the US is now frustrated in the face of the resistance forces and its hegemony in the region is more exhausted than the time before the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

But these victories could not be gained without the inspiration from Arbaeen and the resistance of Imam Hussein and his companions to the oppression. How can we imagine an empt-handed nation resisting and defeating the full-scale barbarism of the Western-backed Zionism without having such a great inspiration?
