Alwaght- Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has been invited to visit the Israeli regime amid Muslim anger over US recognition of al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the regime’s capital.
According to Israeli media sources, Israeli regime’ Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz has invited bin Salman to visit. If such a visit materializes, it what would further ignite anger of Palestinians and Muslims across the world who have been upset by US President Donald Trump’s controversial decision to recognize al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime.
Katz issued the call during an interview with Elaph, a news website run by a Saudi businessman, his spokesman Arye Shalicar said on Wednesday.
The call was not included in the final version of the interview published online. Shalicar could not comment on why, but said Katz had indeed made the comments.
"He said that he asks the king to invite (Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu officially to Riyadh, and he asks MBS, Mohammed bin Salman, the son, to come and visit Israel," Shalicar said of Katz, who is also transportation minister.
In November, Israeli regime’s military chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot said in an interview with the same website Katz spoke to that his country was prepared to cooperate with Saudi Arabia to face Iran's plans "to control the Middle East."
On November 14, Lebanon’s al-Akhbar daily published a secret letter from Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in which a plan to normalize ties with Israel despite “risks” of a public backlash was mentioned.
“I have the honor to submit to you the draft of the plan to establish relations between the kingdom and the State of Israel, based on the strategic partnership agreement with the United States of America, which was discussed with the secretary of state,” Jubeir is alleged to have written. The mere reference of the Tel Aviv regime as “State of Israel” already marks a break with decade-long policy by most Arab League states which view the Israel as a usurper regime.
Arab states and especially Saudi Arabia is warming up to the Israeli regime at the expense of Palestinians who are struggling to liberate their lands, particularly the al-Aqsa Mosque-the third holiest site in Islam, currently under the occupation of the Israelis.
