ALWAGHT- A Hezbollah Political Council member criticized the framework agreement, calling it a "net gain" for Israel and a disaster for Lebanon.
Hezbollah Political Council member Ghaleb Abou Zainab said Iran tied its memorandum of understanding to a ceasefire in Lebanon, accusing the United States of creating a separate diplomatic track to gain leverage. He said Washington's efforts would not alter Iran's position on Lebanon.
Abou Zainab described the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel as a "net gain" for Israel and a catastrophe for Lebanon, arguing that it had been rejected even by some Lebanese factions that support direct negotiations. He urged Beirut to pursue the alternative diplomatic track, saying it better serves Lebanon's interests.
Separately, World Union of Resistance Scholars Secretary General Sheikh Maher Hammoud criticized the agreement as serving US and Israeli interests. He warned against efforts to create internal divisions in Lebanon and said national unity and the Resistance remain key to preventing unrest.
Popular Movement leader Najah Wakim also condemned the agreement, predicting it would collapse along with the Lebanese authorities that signed it. He claimed the deal threatens Lebanon's sovereignty and state institutions, while emphasizing that public support for the Resistance would help prevent internal conflict.
