ALWAGHT- According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, the US-Israeli strike on Iran was a 'blatant act' of aggression against a sovereign state that should not be minimized.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei rejected German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's characterization of the conflict with Iran as an "unnecessary war," arguing on X that while the crisis stems from the US's 2018 withdrawal from the JCPOA and could have been avoided, the UN Charter does not recognize any "necessary war" that justifies force against a sovereign nation. Baghaei insisted that the US-Israeli attack on Iran cannot be downplayed as merely "unnecessary"—it was a clear violation of Article 2 Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter and a blatant act of aggression against a sovereign state, which all nations that value the rule of law must explicitly condemn.
