ALWAGHT- President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran must enhance convergence with Georgia in response to evolving Caucasus developments, stressing that expanded economic and diplomatic cooperation is key to sustaining balanced regional stability.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the strategic importance of the Caucasus as a vital bridge between Asia and Europe during a farewell ceremony for Iran’s new ambassador to Georgia, Ali Moujani. He described the region as a historic cultural and economic crossroads and stressed that engagement with Caucasus states, particularly Georgia, remains a foreign policy priority.
Pezeshkian underscored the deep historical and cultural ties between Iran and Georgia, calling them a shared heritage that supports sustainable cooperation. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to principles of justice, human dignity, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity in its approach to the region.
The president emphasized the region’s economic potential through cooperation in transit corridors, energy, agriculture, and technology, arguing that inclusive connectivity would promote stability and prosperity. Moujani, in turn, pledged to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance Iran’s regional role in the Caucasus.
