US-Led Forces Killed 1,260 Syrian Civilians Including Children: Report

Alwaght- The US-led coalition airstrikes inside Syria have killed nearly 1,260 civilians including children and women since September 2014 when it began illegal military operations inside the country, an observatory group has revealed.

According to the pro-opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), as of 23rd of April 2017, US-led coalition forces had killed 7,631 persons in airstrikes since 23rd of September 2014.

The London-based group added and the airstrikes have also injured hundreds of other Syrians leaving many of them with permanent disabilities while damaging private and public property.

The report added that among the casualties there are a total of 1,256 Syrian civilians, including 275 children and 184 women. Most of the atrocities by the US-led forces were committed in Syrian provinces of al-Hasakah, Al-Raqqah, Aleppo, Idlib and Deir Ezzor where the US-led coalition purports to be combating ISIS terrorist group. The new report comes after the US military’s Central Command announced early April that the coalition’s airstrikes in Syria and Iraq have "unintentionally" killed 229 civilians since such operations began in 2014.

Syria has blamed the US-led coalition for violating international law and the country’s sovereignty, by carrying out airstrikes without authorization from Damascus. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has also on several occasions condemned the West's illegal invasion of his country without authorization from Damascus or the UN.

Early January, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu accused the US-led coalition of having made no positive contribution to the counter-terrorism fight in Syria, but rather worsened the conflict gripping the Arab country. Russia has been engaged in anti-terrorism operations in Syria since September 2015 following a request by Damascus.

A confidential NATO analysis has confirmed that the Russian task force in Syria has demonstrated remarkable efficiency and professionalism.

According to Germany’s FOCUS media outlet, classified NATO document, which was prepared by the alliance’s military experts, Russian contingent operating in Syria is outperforming the more widespread groupings of the US-led coalition which purports to be combating ISIS.

An array of foreign-backed militant and terrorist groups have been committing unprecedented atrocities in Syria since 2011.

Hundreds of thousands have died and millions displaced as a result of the insurgency with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimating last August that more than 400,000 people had been killed in the crisis until then.

The Syrian government has repeatedly accused the US and some European countries including France and Britain of collaborating with some of their regional allies especially Saudi Arabia in arming and funding different terrorist groups in the country.
