ALWAGHT- Attacks on residential neighborhoods and displacement camps in Gaza have destroyed entire families, sparking concerns over the increasing targeting of civilians amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
Over a recent 24-hour period, Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported receiving 59 bodies of Palestinians killed, including nine recovered from under rubble, alongside 208 injuries. Many victims remain trapped and unreachable due to ongoing Israeli bombardments. Since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, the death toll in Gaza has risen to approximately 57,882 Palestinians killed and 138,095 injured, with a significant surge since March 18, 2025, when hostilities intensified.
The humanitarian crisis deepens as Israeli strikes continue to target residential areas and displacement camps, killing entire families and displacing tens of thousands. On one day alone, at least 26 Palestinians were killed in air and artillery attacks across Gaza, including women and children. The death of Yousef al-Zaq, born in Israeli prisons and symbolizing the Palestinian struggle, highlights the generational impact of the conflict. Multiple strikes hit shelters and homes of displaced families, exacerbating the crisis for those seeking refuge.
The United Nations reported nearly 800 Palestinians killed near aid distribution sites, with over 5,252 wounded while trying to access food and medical supplies. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s aid efforts, operating outside the UN system, have been criticized for compromising humanitarian neutrality and safety. The ongoing violence and blockade have created a dire situation where civilians are repeatedly targeted even while seeking essential aid, underscoring the urgent need for an end to hostilities and unrestricted humanitarian access.
