ALWAGHT- A top advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, stated that Iran has received and is studying US communications on resuming nuclear talks.
Ali Larijani expressed deep mistrust toward the United States following the joint Israeli-US military aggression against Iran, which included Israel’s June 13, 2025, strikes killing senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, and the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22. These attacks occurred amid ongoing indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, which were abruptly disrupted. Larijani criticized the US approach under President Trump as forcing countries to either surrender or face war, while envisioning a resilient and independent Middle East emerging from the conflict.
Larijani condemned the “peace through power” doctrine promoted by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, describing it as an outdated and violent strategy. Speaking at a memorial for IRGC General Mohammad Saeed Izadi, who was killed in an Israeli attack, Larijani highlighted Iran’s firm response under Supreme Leader Khamenei and the continued resistance of Palestinians despite US-led violence. He declared that Trump’s theory had failed in Iran and emphasized the region’s move toward strength and resilience, fueled by the sacrifices of martyrs.
Despite claims of Hamas’s defeat, Larijani noted that the Palestinian resistance remains active more than 21 months into the conflict. He accused Trump and Netanyahu of trying to coerce weaker countries through intimidation but affirmed that the Middle East is becoming more resilient. Larijani’s remarks underscore Iran’s rejection of US and Israeli pressure and its commitment to supporting regional resistance movements.
