A Palestinian resistance figure, currently in Israeli prisons won the elections for the central committees of the Fatah movement on Sunday

Alwaght- A Palestinian resistance figure, who currently is in Israeli prisons, won the elections for the central committees of the Fatah movement on Sunday.

Marwan Berquthi was named as the first winning member with 930 votes of the total of 1,300 votes casted during the elections.

Based on the results of the elections for the central committees and the revolution council of the movement, Marwan Berquthi rested on the top of the list also including Jibrael Rajub, Mohammad Ashtia, and Hussein al-Sheikh.

Critics of the Mahmoud Abbas, current head of Fatah movement, especially supporters of Mohammad Dahlan, his rival, were among the most notable losers in the elections.

Taieb Abdul Rahim, Nabil Shaas, Ahmad Qorai, and Nabil Omar were among the most prominent members of the movement who did not succeed to win the elections.

A short review on the list of the wining names, Berquthi in particular, shows that Fatah movement is experiencing a return to more resistance-centered figures who believe in fighting Israeli occupation.

Some Fatah top figures, including Mahmoud Abbas ,have been criticized for more-than-necessary compromising against Israeli aggressions.

The latest examples was when some top figures of the movement criticized him for attending the funeral of the dead Israeli President Shimon Peres who was wildly known as a war criminal for his infamous massacre of 160 Lebanese civilians in a UN refugee camp in Qana in 1996.
