Alwaght-Vladimir
Putin's, the Russian President, decision of annexation of the Crimean peninsula
to the Russian territory and the secrete invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops
in a response to the triggering of the Ukrainian conflict by the US government
are among the main events quaked US foreign
policy . Several incidents in the
world point towards the staggered US foreign policies including; the creation
of the terrorist group ISIS and aiding it with advanced equipment and
governance, occasional acts of provocation towards China in the South and East
China Sea, alongside with the powerlessness of the western world to stop the
human and financial losses in Syria after five years, are all symbols pointing
towards the Staggered US foreign policies.
Many blame the US
for the ongoing events, but a much larger scale of events is merely related to
tactical mistakes by the US Government or Washington's refusal to send ground
troops into new fronts. During the cold
war, the US global role in the country was clear. America has led the fight with the former
Soviet Union and communism throughout the world. However, there is confusion regarding
personal decisions, and often conflict between American values and the main
goal. Therefore, most Americans knew
what the necessary goal of their country, and they committed themselves to it.
With the
collapse of the Soviet Union, the transparency of issues ended, and the Americans
were confused since then. Is our goal to
increase the maximum power of the US or to promote the democratic culture? Should the US still play the role of the
global Police, even if it is not directly threatened? Is our sense of duty lies within correcting
the defects and deficiencies in our country, or the development of capitalism
and free markets? However, these issues
are defined differently: changing the regime or reconstructing the country,
adhering to the international law about exceptions, multilateralism, and
unilateral interests against the proposed values. After all these different interpretations,
they search for a hidden agenda on which to decide when and where to make
money, political capitals, and even lives.
Surveys show that without such a framework, the American public, just as
its government, is confused about the timing to act or not, and their stances
will likely face major changes with the subsequent events.
Meanwhile, the
world's vulnerability to external influence has elevated. Almost the entire seven billion population of
the world now have a single market.
Others simply cannot avoid the entrance of individuals, intelligence
agencies, crime, money, weapons, pollution, and epidemics. In this case, the lack of any protocol that
would govern the US foreign policies is felt.
Interestingly,
the US is not alone in this matter.
China is also confused regarding their role and their behavior is
mixed. Deng Xiaoping, the country's
revolutionary, fought the risks and exerted a lot of effort in order to
increase the economic power of China and release it from the binding
forces. Here lies many ambiguities, even
to Beijing, how wide is the field of Chinese goals? China is rapidly increasing its military
power. Its actions in the Southern and
Eastern China Sea, over the small islands and coastal waters, stimulated some
dispute regarding the concerns over East Asia.
In the West
Asia, Israel regime appears to have abandoned the efforts to achieve
peace. Conflict policy is increasingly turning
to achieve the two-state solution. Even
a stable country became possible. Iran
is close to the prominent historical agreement that would end the global
concern regarding its nuclear program.
Therefore, in
2015, the US has many ambiguities in its foreign policies and its vital
interests. On the other hand, Obama
could not be ambiguous towards the fate of the Syrian President Bashar Al-Asad
anymore. His decision must be clear, and
should fill the large gap in its current policy of not allowing enough force to
fight ISIS in Syria. Moreover, Obama
should not allow the relations with Russia to continue to be cold as the
present time.
