ALWAGHT- Iran’s Defense Council criticized intensifying threats and external interference, notably from Washington, and warned that violations of Iran’s security, sovereignty, or territorial integrity would draw a firm and measured response.
Iran’s Defense Council has condemned escalating threats and hostile rhetoric against the Islamic Republic, declaring that Iran’s security, independence, and territorial integrity are absolute red lines. It warned that any aggression or continued hostile conduct would provoke a firm, proportionate, and decisive response.
The statement was widely seen as a response to recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, who issued threats and voiced support for actions that could fuel unrest in Iran. The council accused Iran’s adversaries of pursuing a strategy of pressure, intimidation, and interference aimed at undermining the country’s foundations, in violation of international law.
The warning comes amid economic protests triggered by the sharp fall of Iran’s currency, which officials say are being exploited by foreign-backed elements. While acknowledging public economic grievances, Iranian authorities stressed their readiness to counter both internal disorder and external threats, emphasizing deterrence, defensive preparedness, and the right to respond preemptively to credible signs of aggression.
