ALWAGHT- According to the Yemeni Armed Forces, a Turkish-made Bayraktar Akinci drone operated by Saudi forces was shot down over Al-Jwawf province.
The Yemeni Armed Forces said their air defenses shot down a Turkish-made Bayraktar Akinci armed reconnaissance drone over Al-Jawf province, alleging it belonged to Saudi forces and was carrying out hostile operations. Military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said the forces would continue defending Yemen's airspace and sovereignty.
The announcement comes days after the Yemeni Armed Forces declared an end to the 2022 truce following a Saudi airstrike near Sanaa International Airport. Sana'a subsequently announced a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia and said it had targeted vessels linked to Saudi companies in the Red Sea.
Separately, the Yemeni Armed Forces said they launched missile and drone strikes on Aramco facilities in Jizan and Yanbu in response to what they described as Saudi aggression. Yemeni officials and Ansarullah also warned of further retaliatory measures, while Saudi authorities had not commented on the reported strikes, which remain independently unverified.
