Yemen Executes Drone Strike on Southern Israel

ALWAGHT- On Monday, the Israeli army reported that Yemen had launched a drone strike on a southern region of occupied Palestine.

The Israeli military reported that a drone launched from Yemen was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) near the southern community of Gvulot. According to sources, an IAF helicopter downed the drone, with no sirens activated in nearby towns as per protocol. This event follows a previous missile attack on January 3, when Yemeni forces reportedly struck an Israeli military base in western Ramallah, with Israeli media admitting they failed to counter the missile.

The Israeli military acknowledged that the missile from Yemen entered occupied Palestine’s airspace, and while efforts were made to intercept it, the results are still under investigation. In the aftermath of the missile strike, 12 settlers were reported injured while fleeing to shelters, and 9 others sought medical treatment due to panic. The attack marks an escalation of Yemen's support for Palestine amidst Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.

Yemen has consistently expressed its support for Palestine’s resistance against Israeli occupation, especially after the Palestinian Resistance's Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in October 2023. Yemen’s Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza. In response, the United States and Britain formed a military coalition in December to target Yemen, aligning with Israel’s efforts.
