Araghchi: Iran Open to Diplomacy That Safeguards Its National Rights

ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, with the two sides exchanging views on bilateral ties and key developments across the region.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. Araghchi described China as a close friend and strategic partner, stressing Tehran’s intention to further strengthen ties under their comprehensive strategic partnership.

Araghchi attributed the current regional tensions to what he described as US and Israeli military aggression against Iran. He praised China’s opposition to violations of the UN Charter and said Iran remained prepared to defend its sovereignty and national interests while welcoming diplomatic solutions that safeguard its rights.

He also called for a new regional order based on dialogue and cooperation among regional countries, without foreign military interference. Araghchi said Iran was seeking to restore calm and maintain peaceful relations with its neighbors while continuing to uphold its stated principles.

Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s willingness to deepen relations with Iran and described the US war against Iran as illegal. He stressed the need for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve regional disputes and said Beijing was prepared to help reduce tensions and promote peace and stability.
