ALWAGHT- Iran is preparing to deploy three satellites from the Shahid Soleimani constellation in a single launch before the current Iranian year concludes on March 21, 2027.
Iranian Communications Minister Sattar Hashemi said the country is prioritizing its space industry, highlighting plans to launch three satellites—Paya, Zafar, and Kowsar—in cooperation with Russia. He said the satellites were developed through collaboration among government bodies, universities, and private companies.
Hashemi also said Iran is advancing space-launch infrastructure, despite damage to some facilities during the recent war. He noted that the first phase of the Chabahar Space Center is 98% complete and is intended to support the launch of communications and remote-sensing satellites.
The minister also announced plans to launch the Nahid-2 telecommunications satellite. He said the Shahid Soleimani constellation comprises 24 satellites, including 18 primary and six backup units, with three planned for simultaneous launch this year and the remainder to follow in subsequent years.
