Qalibaf: Resistance Front Stands United Against US Aggression

ALWAGHT- Iran’s Parliament Speaker said Wednesday that Iran and the Resistance Front remain united in confronting what he called US “arrogance,” warning that abandoning their struggle would amount to accepting defeat.

Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf told Hamas official Basem Naim that the Resistance Front’s struggle represents what he described as a confrontation between truth and falsehood and against “arrogance.” He said resistance has taken different forms over the past five decades and stressed that negotiations can be used as a tool in the broader struggle.

Qalibaf said Iran had insisted that an Iran-US memorandum include an end to the war against Iran and its allies, while the other side initially sought restrictions on Iran’s missile, nuclear and resistance activities. He also stressed the need to preserve unity among the various Resistance Front groups and said US policies were responsible for regional insecurity.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Qalibaf said Iran would reopen the waterway only after the US fulfills its commitments under the Islamabad memorandum. Naim praised Iran’s military and political actions, saying they had surprised many countries, and reaffirmed that Palestinians would continue confronting Israel until its presence is removed from Palestinian territory.
