Alwaght- Almost 7,500 people have been killed over an eight month period of the unabated Saudi aggression against the impoverished Arab state of Yemen, a new report says.
In a report released on Tuesday, The Civil Coalition for Monitoring Aggression on Yemen notes that that the death toll from 255 days of the Saudi airstrikes has topped 7,495, adding that the unabated attacks have left 16,058 others injured. Most of the casualties are civilians especially women, children and the elderly.
The report noted that the illegal war inflicted damages on hundreds of important installations in the civilian infrastructure.
The monitoring coalition pointed out that Saudi warplanes have targeted, among others, 105 safe water networks, 108 power plants, 14 airports, 304 bridges, 104 road networks, 10 ports, 244 market places, 472 food warehouses, 212 gas stations, 1,231 schools and education centers, 34 universities, 844 governmental institutions, 161 workshops, 29 sport clubs, 214 health facilities and 564 mosques in all the provinces of Yemen.
Saudi Arabia began a deadly military aggression against Yemen – without a UN mandate – on March 26 to stop advances of the Ansarullah movement which is backed by the country’s army and Popular Committees. The Saudi regime intends to restore fugitive former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadito power .
In response to the brutal Saudi aggression, the Yemeni army, backed by popular committees and Ansarullah forces have been targeting several military installations inside Saudi Arabia and areas occupied by Saudi-led forces in Yemen while battling Saudi-backed al-Qaeda terrorists in the country.
