Alwaght- 300 Bahraini students are behind bars, deprived from sitting in class, as schools are going to open doors for the country's students next week.
Al Wefaq National Islamic Society, in a statement released on 3 September, called on the Bahrain's Al Khalifa regime to release students who should be attending school or college, Bahrain-Based Alwefaq website reported, adding that Al Wefaq "Is calling on the authorities in Bahrain to take this step ahead of the first day of school.
The most appropriate method of rehabilitation is to allow these students to take their seats on school and provide them with care as students instead of keeping them locked up, statement added.
Touching also on distribution of scholarship, the education team in Al Wefaq National Islamic Society said that 2015 saw the highest numbers of sectarian discrimination in the distributing of scholarships. Drawing the conclusion based on a comparative study over the past five years, the study reveals that at least 127 out of a total of 630 students were deprived from the scholarship they deserved over these years.
The study looks at scholarships given to students who scored GPAs between 95% and 99% out of 100 over the past five years based on their choices.
