Alwaght- Saudi-led warplanes have bombed a hospital and a fish market in the Yemeni port city of al Hudaydah killing over 60 civilians and injured dozens in what is clearly a war crime.
Footage from the scene of the bombing shown by Yemen’s Al-Masirah television station showed bodies of multiple people covered by blankets following the Saudi warplanes bombing of al Hudaydah General Hospital, al-Thawra.
Reports say the hospital was targeted when people injured in an earlier attack on a fishing market were being brought there. Local medical sources as saying that 60 people were killed and 102 others injured on Thursday in Saudi-led coalition attacks on al-Hudaydah hospital and the fishing market.
This is not the first time the Saudi-led aggressors have deliberately targeted hospitals in their brutal military campaign against Yemen.
According to independent estimates more than 70 health facilities in Yemen have been destroyed by a series of airstrikes conducted by the Saudi Arabian-led coalition since March 2015.
Many of these have been public health hospitals staffed or supported by Doctors Without Borders (MSF). Human rights activists say the airstrikes are war crimes in violation of the protections of health care facilities afforded by the internationally recognized rules of war and have called for independent investigations. Many other civilian targets, including schools in Yemen are also bombed by the Saudi-led coalition which obtains military support from the US, UK and the Israeli regime.
