Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met in Amman to discuss the recent regional escalation and efforts to restore calm and achieve lasting security.
The two officials stressed the importance of upholding the US-Iran ceasefire and resuming negotiations to address the root causes of regional tensions while ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz under international law.
Safadi also called for implementing all elements of US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan, increasing humanitarian aid to the Strip, and halting Israeli actions in the West Bank.
