ALWAGHT- Russian officials reported early Thursday that at least one person was killed and air travel was disrupted across Russia following Ukraine’s second consecutive day of large-scale drone attacks.
A civilian was killed and another injured in a drone strike on Kamensky Khutor near the Ukraine-Russia border, while in the Kursk and Tula regions, locals suffered injuries and property damage from similar attacks. Moscow’s air defenses intercepted over 40 drones targeting the capital, following a previous wave of about 30 drones.
The drone attacks caused widespread disruptions to air travel, leading to temporary flight suspensions at all four Moscow airports and delays in regions as far as Siberia’s Buryatia. Mobile internet access was restricted in several targeted areas as a security measure during the strikes.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported shooting down 105 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions overnight, continuing a recent pattern of intensified drone attacks. Ukrainian strikes also damaged a semiconductor plant in the Oryol region earlier in the week.
