Iran Received Parts of A US Proposal Via Oman and Will Respond Based on Its National Interests

ALWAGHT- Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Iran has received parts of a US proposal, relayed by Oman’s top diplomat, as Muscat acts as the intermediary in indirect Tehran-Washington talks.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on X that Oman’s foreign minister visited Tehran to deliver elements of a US proposal. While the contents were not revealed, Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s response would align with its principles, national interests, and the rights of its people.

During a speech in Tehran, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s firm stance against foreign domination, especially regarding its nuclear program. He called uranium enrichment a non-negotiable right and condemned US demands for zero enrichment as unacceptable and oppressive to the Iranian nation.

Despite ongoing US threats and sanctions, Iran remains engaged in indirect talks through Oman and insists on its right to peaceful nuclear energy. Araghchi referenced a religious decree by Ayatollah Khamenei banning nuclear weapons, while President Pezeshkian echoed Iran’s openness to cooperation—but without compromising its core rights.
