Alwaght- Yemeni Forces have carried out major retaliatory attacks against separate locations in southwestern Saudi Arabia, killing as many as 13 Saudi forces.
Six of the fatalities occurred at the al-Fuaz military base in the Saudi region of Najran, Yemen’s al-Masirah television network reported on Sunday.
Yemeni forces also struck a military vehicle carrying three Saudi troops on their way to the Alib command post in the kingdom’s Asir region. Four more Saudi troopers died in another attack against the outpost.
The Yemeni Army and its allied Ansarullah fighters have been defending the nation against more than two years of Saudi aggression, launched to restore Yemen’s former Riyadh-allied government to power.
Meanwhile, 21 Sudanese troops, including 4 officers have been killed by Yemeni forces in Hajjah province. Sudanese military sources Saturday confirmed the fatalities denying earlier media reports that indicated 80 Sudanese troops have been killed over the recent days in Yemen. Sudan is part of the Saudi-led aggression on Yemen. Sudanese military sources say, high-ranking officers have been dispatched to Yemen to ensure tight operational coordination “because the number of casualties in the last battle is the greatest loss among our forces.”
Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement fighters and their allies in Yemen’s army have been launching retaliatory attacks against parts of Saudi territory adjacent to northern Yemen, as well as the gatherings of Riyadh-allied troops and mercenaries inside Yemen.
The Saudi regime launched an illegal aggression on Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to force back the country's former government to power. The brutal aggression has so far claimed the lives of nearly 13,000 Yemenis mostly civilians including women and children.
The Saudi military aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, mosques and factories.
