Alwaght- ISIS terrorist group has already seized control of a noticeable portion of Syrian and Iraqi territories. However, it seems that ISIS aims to stretch its empire to Afghanistan in the east, Egypt through Sinai, Libya through “Sirte” and the oil crescent , and Nigeria and Mali borders through "Boko Haram".
ISIS is expanding geographically, despite its decline in Iraq and and withdrawal from some areas under the barrage of ground attacks from the Iraqi army and Popular Committees as well as despite the abandonment of "Kobani" on the Syrian-Turkish border and defeat of the organization at the hands of the Kurds and the Peshmerga forces. However, it gained new ground in other areas in Libya, Nigeria and Mali, where the "Boko Haram" group declared allegiance to the organization as well as to the “Caliph”. Afghanistan has announced, for the first time, the presence of “ISIS” on its territory despite the presence of the Taliban and al-Qaeda. Pakistan’s “Taliban” maydeclare the existence of “ISIS” in their areas of influence after the announcement of some of its members allegiance to “al-Baghdadi”.
Afghanistan for the first time has officially acknowledgedthe presence of ISIS on its territory. Afghani president, Ashraf Ghani, blamed the ISIS for a suicide bombing of Jalalabad in Afghanistan on Saturday that killed 35 civilians. According to Afghani officials, 125 were wounded, making it this year's worst suicide attack.
A man wearing an explosive vest targeted a crowd of people waiting to collect their salaries at Kabul Bank branch in Jalalabad.
This is the first time the ISIS has gone so far from its strongholds in Syria and Iraq. In January, ISIS announced its intention to expand to Afghanistan and Pakistanwhere it refers to as “Khorasan.”
A United Nation Mission in Afghanistan official Nicholas Haysom said: “The organization of ISIS did not consolidate its presence in the country, but the UN Mission is worried about the possibility of giving the opportunity to isolated militants to join it.” Russia's deputy ambassador to the United Nations Vladimir Savroncov said, “Moscow is concerned about the escalation of the “terroristic” threat in Afghanistan and the expansion of the organization [ISIS] geographically.”
In recent months, ISIS organization began growing in different parts of Afghanistan; it is believed that a number of Taliban fighters have joined the organization. There are fears that the emergence of the organization in Afghanistan constitutes a blow to all efforts to achieve stability in the country.
Back on 25 , Ashraf Ghani in a speech before the US Congress, said: “The organization of ISIS poses a serious threat to the West and Central Asia.” Ghani believed that ISIS has started to send elements to the south and west of Afghanistan in search of entries to sneak through. After Ghani’s statements and interviews, the US administration announced that it will postpone reducing its forces in Afghanistan. US President kept 9800 troops until the end of 2015while he had previously scheduled to retain half of that number.
Previously, the US supplied weapons to "Taliban" in Afghanistan to fight the Soviet Union back then. The same is applied for the present events. The US is trying to open a new front against Russia, after it has recently opened a front in Ukraine. The US has long been seeking extremism in every corner for the sake of its own goals. A month ago, reports revealed the culmination of Christian Taliban in Ukraine as "a jihad against Russia". "Russia Today" news agency reported that a Ukrainian ultranationalist of Polish descent wanted to turn the conflict in the east of the country into a crusade against Russia. While the Islamic Taliban movement appears to fight the US, this group envisages Russia "as the Great Satan, after the Muslim fashion". The leader of the Ukrainian Radical Brotherhood movement, Dymtro Korchynsky, "promised to fight until Moscow burns".
According to an interview, Brzezinski made with Le Nouvel Observateur in a 1998, American intelligence services began to aid the extremists in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. Brzezinski said, “Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul.” According to the interview, at that period of time the most important thing for the U.S. administration was the collapse of the Soviet empire and they did not care about having given arms and advice to future terrorists.
Cooperation between the U.S. administration and terrorist groups dates back to half a century ago. They were good partners since the Cold War.
