Iran Denounces Deadly Terrorist Attack in Kashmir Region Under Indian Administration

ALWAGHT- The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson issued a firm condemnation of the terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir that claimed at least 26 lives.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei strongly condemned Tuesday’s terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, denouncing it as a heinous crime that violates international and humanitarian laws. In an official statement, he expressed deep sympathy for the victims’ families and extended condolences to India’s government and people. Baghaei reiterated Iran’s firm stance against all forms of terrorism and called for enhanced regional and global cooperation to combat such acts and hold perpetrators accountable.

The attack targeted tourists visiting Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, leaving at least 26 people dead from gunshot wounds, according to Indian police. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the assault, which has drawn widespread condemnation. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to bring the attackers to justice, labeling the incident a “heinous act.”

The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s statement emphasized the necessity of unified international efforts to prevent terrorism and ensure justice. The deadly assault has heightened security concerns in the region, with authorities investigating the incident while mourning the tragic loss of civilian lives. Both Iran and India have underscored the urgency of collective action against terrorism in the wake of the attack.
