Iran And the US Wrap Up Their Third Round of Discussions in Oman

ALWAGHT- The third round of indirect talks between Iran and the US, facilitated by Oman, concluded in Muscat on Saturday afternoon.

On April 26, delegations from Iran and the US, led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, concluded their third round of indirect talks in Muscat.

The discussions included sessions between the top negotiators as well as technical talks among experts. Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi once again acted as the intermediary, as he did in the previous rounds.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the talks focused on the full removal of sanctions on Iran, building trust regarding the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, and safeguarding Iran's right to utilize nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. This round followed two earlier rounds of talks in Oman and Italy on April 12 and 19, aimed at reaching an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions.
