Saudi Regime Delivered Chemical Weapons to Terrorists in Syria

Saudi Regime Delivered Chemical Weapons to Terrorists in Syria

Alwaght- Saudi Arabia is providing members of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front terrorists group with internationally-banned chemical weapons, a senior European official has revealed.

According to the Secretary General of the European Department for Security and Information (DESI) Haitham Abu Said, the Saudi-backed terrorists regularly use the deadly munitions in their attacks against Syrian civilians.

The banned weapons are obtained by terrorists on a monthly basis from Bulgaria, and sneaked into Syria through militant-held areas on the border with Jordan, Abu Said said.

He pointed out that Nusra Front terrorists have on a number of occasions used weapons containing chemical agents against Syrians, most recently in the strategic northwestern province of Aleppo.

Top European official added that international organizations have recorded several such incidents in the past.

Early April ISIS terrorists used poisonous gas in an attack on a Syrian military airbase located in Deir Ez-zor, the largest city in the eastern part of the country.

Moreover, back in February, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed reports that ISIS had been using chemical weapons against Kurdish forces in northern Iraq throughout 2015.

The OPCW also concluded in October that mustard gas had been deployed in neighboring Syria in 2015. The summary of the report asserts “with the utmost confidence that at least two people were exposed to sulfur mustard [on August 21]” in the town of Marea, located north of Aleppo. “It is very likely that the effects of sulfur mustard resulted in the death of a baby,” the report added.

The Syrian government gave up its own supply of chemical weapons under international supervision after hundreds of civilians were killed by sarin nerve gas in a Damascus suburb in 2013. Western countries pointed the finger at President Bashar Assad for that atrocity, though his government has steadfastly denied the allegations.

While Western countries have expressed their willingness to combat ISIS and Al Nusra Front terrorist groups, but at the same time they do not bother to raise a finger to prevent this groups from obtaining, developing and using prohibited weapons.
