LAF Says Israeli Aggression Prevents Full Deployment

ALWAGHT- The Lebanese Army says ongoing Israeli attacks are hindering the completion of its deployment in southern Lebanon and preventing the implementation of agreed commitments.

The Lebanese Army said continued Israeli attacks are obstructing the completion of its deployment in southern Lebanon under existing understandings, preventing the implementation of agreed commitments. It added that the attacks are also delaying the return of displaced residents and undermining stability in the south.

Israeli forces continued operations across southern Lebanon, reportedly burning and demolishing homes near Bint Jbeil and carrying out additional detonations in Majdal Zoun, alongside patrols near Lebanese Army positions.

The developments come as Lebanon and Israel engage in US-sponsored negotiations under a framework agreement aimed at ending hostilities, launching long-term political talks, and implementing phased security arrangements. The Lebanese Army has begun deploying in designated "trial zones," including Froun, Sarifa, and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah.

Meanwhile, residents have started returning to Zawtar al-Gharbiyah under Lebanese Army supervision. Local officials said around 60% of homes have been completely destroyed, with much of the remaining infrastructure heavily damaged, leaving the town without basic services.
