ALWAGHT- Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, rejected the US president's call for negotiations with Iran, labeling Trump's offer as a deception aimed at misleading public opinion.
On March 12, Ayatollah Khamenei met with university students and representatives in Tehran, where he discussed Iran's stance on global powers and its refusal to comply with external pressure. He emphasized that Iran is the only country that has categorically rejected the demands of bullying powers, particularly the United States.
The Leader criticized US President Donald Trump's claim of being ready for negotiations, calling it a deception aimed at manipulating public opinion. Khamenei pointed out that Trump, who withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), had proven himself untrustworthy in honoring agreements, making any negotiations futile. He rejected the notion of talks, stating that the US itself is the reason why Iran will not negotiate.
Khamenei also addressed the issue of Iran’s nuclear program, asserting that the country does not pursue nuclear weapons out of its own choice and intentions, rather than due to external pressure. He further warned that some global powers seeking negotiations are more focused on exerting control and imposing their own agendas, which Iran will not accept.
