The air defenses seem to have failed so far to effectively intercept a majority of the drones and missiles.
Scenes of missiles and drones flying and hitting targets over Tel Aviv, Al-Quds, Negev, Dimona, and Haifa have circulated online.
An IRGC statement said that by 2:51 Tehran Local Time (6:20 UTC), 50 percent of the fired drones and missiles hit their targets.
Reports by various media claimed that Iron Dome air defenses have lost the initiative due to the large extent of the attacks.
Some Israeli sources suggested that some 150 missiles have been fired at Israel.
The IRGC published a statement, saying that "we attacked military targets in the occupied territories and successfully hit all of the aimed targets."
The IRGC statement also warned the US that any American involvement in any attacks on the Iranian interests will be severely responded.
It further said that any American and Israeli attacks from any origin will be responded to with reciprocal attacks.
