Haniyeh Says Resistance Stands Strong, Resolute as Israel Says Ready for Ceasefire

No Security for Occupiers, Until Palestinians Enjoy Security, Freedom: Haniyeh

Alwaght- The humanitarian conditions in the war-ravaged Gaza are critical as the Israeli regime on the strength of the US support continues its genocidal war on Gaza, head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh told Iran's Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian.

They discussed the latest developments in Gaza in a phone conversation last night.

Haniyeh stressed that resistance continues against the Israeli aggression despite the barbarous crimes committed by the Israeli war machine especially in the north of the besieged enclave.

Haniyeh called for immediate actions of the international community to put pressure on the Israelis to end their killing spree and allow aids to enter Gaza amid acute famine that is mainly affecting children.

Haniyeh updated the Iranian FM about the latest efforts for a ceasefire, highlighting Hamas’s conditions for any truce deal that include ceasing the hostilities, lifting the blockade, and withdrawing from Gaza.

He pointed to the Israeli obstructions before the efforts for a ceasefire and said that Tel Aviv is responsible for collapse of talks.

For his part, Amir-Abdollahian lauded the Palestinian resistance to the Israeli genocide in Gaza, saying that Netanyahu is struggling for survival in Gaza.

"The world can see that Netanyahu is at his end and is just struggling for his survival," Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying.

He added: "As the Leader of Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei said, thanks to the resistance of the Palestinian people, the Israeli regime has stuck in the swamp of Gaza war."

The top Iranian diplomat censured the UN Security Council’s reaction to the crimes committed daily in Palestine and insisted that the world community needs to move to check the Israeli regime and deliver food and medicine to Gazans.

The US has so far vetoed three resolutions at the UN Security Council calling for ceasefire.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken who is on a West Asia tour said on Thursday the US will put to vote a resolution at the UNSC on Friday. The resolution, according to him, calls for immediate cessation of war. However, it ties peace to meeting the Israeli conditions by Hamas and so it is hardly to make a difference.
