Israeli Regime Strikes Quake-Stricken Syria, Kills, Injures Scores

Alwaght- Israeli regime carried out Saturday several airstrikes on Syrian capital city, killing at least five people as the Arab country is gripping with a devastating earthquake that rocked it on 6 February.

Some media put the death toll at least 15; reporting Tel Aviv regime's airstrike hit densely populated Kafr Sousa – a high-security area of Damascus, part of which is home to senior security officials, security branches and intelligence headquarters.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the strike had killed 15 people including civilians. Syria’s defense ministry said the strike killed, in a preliminary toll, five people, among them a soldier, and injured 15 civilians, some in critical condition.

Israeli regime airstrike against Syria came as the world countries are trying to help the already war-torn country, which was hit by a magnitude 8.7 earthquake that killed hundreds of people, destroyed thousands of buildings, and tore apart families and communities.

Tel Aviv regime has repeatedly targeted Syria with missiles, usually fired from Lebanese airspace or the occupied Golan Heights, wary of air defense systems provided by Russia to Damascus.

The Syrian government several times filed complaints to the UN, but no condemnation emerged for the Western-influenced community.
