Alwaght- The Bahraini regime has denied right to medical care for imprisoned activist, Khalil Al-Halwachi.

Deputy head of the European-Bahraini Organization for Human Rights (EBOHR) Fatima Al-Halwachi said that Khalil, who is sentenced to 10 years in prison, suffers from blood clot symptoms.

Fatima also said her father was not good when he called her on 20th of February and stated that he is suffering blood clot symptoms.

She added that his voice was tired. Al-Halwachi told his daughter that he was not transferred to hospital and that he couldn't move his arm. He further stated that he feels numb and suffers from chest pain.

Fatima Al-Halwachi said that he father was transferred to Al-Qalaa hospital (Ministry of Interior), but he didn't receive medications. He was not allowed to be transferred to hospital to see specialized doctor.

Since February 14, 2011, Bahraini people have been holding peaceful protest rallies on an almost daily basis, demanding that the Al Khalifah family relinquish power and let a just system representing all Bahrainis be established.

Bahrainis have also been complaining against widespread discrimination against the Shia majority in the kingdom.

Manama has responded to the protests with lethal force, drawing international criticism. Many citizens including peaceful protestors, activists and clerics have been sentenced to jail after unfair trials while other have been detained without trial.

 In March 2011, troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were also deployed to assist Bahrain in its crackdown.
