ALWAGHT- Iran has executed a prominent Israeli Mossad agent for his role in the 2022 assassination of an IRGC member in Tehran.
Mohsen Langarneshin, an individual involved in espionage and intelligence cooperation with the Israeli Mossad, was arrested and sentenced to death in Iran for "waging war against God" and "corruption on earth." His crimes were tied to his work as a Mossad agent, which included supporting terror activities and playing a key role in the assassination of IRGC Colonel Hassan Sayyad Khodaei in Tehran on May 22, 2022. Langarneshin’s death sentence was upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court after a thorough legal process.
Langarneshin began working for Mossad in October 2020, undergoing training before executing his first mission in January 2021. His activities included collaborating with Mossad agents in Iran, supporting operations like the attack on an industrial center in Isfahan, and procuring equipment and logistics for Mossad agents operating within Iran. He was also responsible for facilitating communication between Israeli operatives and agents inside Iran, including providing them with SIM cards, phones, and portable internet modems.
Throughout his trial, Langarneshin confessed to his actions, admitting his role in multiple operations, including assisting in the assassination of Colonel Khodaei. He met with senior Mossad officers in countries like Georgia and Nepal to receive operational instructions. His cooperation with Israeli intelligence agents led to several significant terror-related activities inside Iran, contributing to his eventual conviction and execution.
