ALWAGHT- The Islamic Resistance in Iraq launched two major strikes on Israeli military positions in occupied Palestine, employing drones and missiles as a response to the continuing violence in Gaza.
Iraq's Islamic Resistance announced on Wednesday that it had targeted Israeli military installations in the Jordan Valley using drones, in retaliation for Israel's actions in Gaza. The resistance group, which includes various anti-terror factions, stated that the attack was part of their ongoing efforts to resist occupation and support the Palestinian people. The announcement was made through their Telegram channel, emphasizing their commitment to standing against what they termed as the occupying entity's atrocities against Palestinian civilians.
In their statement, the group condemned the violence inflicted on civilians, particularly children, women, and the elderly, asserting that their drone strike was a direct response to these injustices. They expressed a strong sense of purpose, declaring that they have the permission to fight back against the oppressors, and reiterated their belief in divine support for their cause. This declaration underscores their determination to continue their operations in defense of the Palestinian people.
Israeli media reported that the drone strike targeted the Ramon airbase, causing a fire and highlighting a failure of Israel’s defense systems to intercept the attack. This event marks a significant escalation, as it is the first instance of Iraqi resistance drones targeting this particular Israeli base. In addition to the drone attack, the Iraqi Resistance also launched a second operation using an advanced Al-Arqab cruise missile aimed at a critical target in northern occupied Palestine.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has intensified its military operations against Gaza, resulting in extensive casualties and destruction. Reports indicate that at least 41,455 Palestinians have died, with many being women and children, while nearly 96,000 have been injured, and around 1.9 million have been displaced. This ongoing conflict reflects a dire humanitarian crisis, with many individuals forced to flee their homes multiple times due to the escalating violence.
