ALWAGHT- Iran will send senior officials to Lebanon for the funeral of former Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
At a press conference on Monday, Esmaeil Baghaei announced that Iran will participate at a high level in the funeral of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Regarding the cancellation of direct flights from Iran to Lebanon, Baghaei stated that Tehran has conveyed its stance, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Lebanese counterpart holding productive discussions on the matter. He noted that both ministers emphasized the need for a well-considered decision while preventing external interference. Negotiations with Lebanon, he added, are ongoing to reach a rational solution.
Baghaei also addressed an incident on February 14, in which an Israeli threat disrupted a passenger flight carrying Lebanese citizens from Tehran to Beirut. He condemned the act as a violation of international law and urged the International Civil Aviation Organization and other global bodies to take action against Israel’s endangerment of civil aviation safety and security.
